Super Beavis and Butt-Head is an attempt at making a from-the-ground-up remake of the SNES version of the Beavis and Butt-Head game.

Being made in Godot 4.4.1 (might downgrade a version for performance), the game uses GDScript. I was thinking of using C# as well but then I remembered that I don't like C#.

Why Beavis and Butt-Head?

I don't know, I like the game. I think it's nice, compared to the Genesis version it's amazing though. I thought it would be a fun thing to do. I'm talking like I finished it already even though I clearly didn't.

I think it's going to be a nice project to keep me on my toes as I work on my actual, big projects. That's one thing I like doing, working on things while I work on my main things. Sounds weird, doesn't it? It's sort of meant to sound like that.

This whole project is going to be a "weekend only" sort of thing since I strictly don't program my larger projects on weekends due to how easy it is for me to get burnt out. A passion project entirely. So this means I will only work on it as long as I have passion.

What is going to be different from the original?

Number one: Widescreen support and an uncapped frame rate. Going to be a million times smoother than the original.
Number two: Save files instead of passwords.

Number three: Slightly adjusted difficulty. Mainly some small changes of the terrible stuff like that god-awful fish tank in the mall or those whipping girls in the last level and how they spawn off screen and immediately hit you
Number four: Mod support? Local multiplayer?? Online multiplayer??? Then I would really have to use C# then.

Clearly, many things are going to change. I can list off the biggest things and all my hopes and dreams and all that but I'd rather not. There are some things that I obviously can and cannot do and if you are wondering "what could he possibly mean by that?" then you obviously have nothing else to worry about.

Closing statements.

Like I said, passion project. I only work on this when I have passion + on weekends only. I like programming, when I'm not burnt out that is but I'm finding ways not to get burnt out. I also like the thought of remakes, whether official or not, games that are semi-lost to time and finally they have new life into them. I always have plans for remakes and this isn't the only one I'm working on, you can always expect something from me.

One last thing before closing: I will release source code at some point, maybe when the game is near finished. Or what if I get the email that's like "Hey man, we're MTV and we love your remake! We wanna officially release it or something dude!" then I don't think anyone is gonna see that source code. Like that's ever gonna happen.

Sorry for this really weird and ""nothingburger"" devlog. I'm quite tired from programming all night. It's currently 6:53 AM Central Time as I type this sentence. Next time, I'll have something better to show you all.

If you have any comments, questions, concerns, you can use the comments section of the game page. I'll most likely respond to it.
