Why do I like this song?

So to some people, this song is sort of comedic, comical, or even very cheesy because it is a very 90s song as it encapsulates it's environment very well, plus the vocals.
To me though, this song has a deeper hold and a stronger meaning to me personally. I am just such a fan of it's tone, the chords and the reverb and soundscape it creates. Especially with the instrumental bridge sections with the delayed and reverb lead pad, the tone and sound it has has always been reverberating in my head for longer than a decade now. 

This song is a pioneer in how I want my own music to feel and sound like. Melancholic tones and keys, a gloomy backpiece that is enhanced by an illusion of a wide hall and/or environment that the sounds are bouncing off of. 

Every device I've had since I first heard this song has always had this and a couple other songs downloaded on it. From a Motorola Droid One, to a PSVITA, to a crappy Samsung phone, an iPod Touch 5, a Galaxy Note 5, etc, etc. This song has always been on it among others I love.

Why did I do this?

Because I love the song. Since I had listened to this song quite a few times, I had grown a bit bored with it's flat sound and it's short sections. It needed a bit more punch, a bit more boom. So I extended a bunch of parts, attempted to expand the soundscape, and gave the song a harder hit while keeping it's melancholic and gloomy tone. 

I used an AI stem ripping software to get instruments from the song and help loop and add new parts to the song. That was one of the catalysts of me proceeding with this mix. I could finally extend the bridges and gloomier parts like how I've always wanted them to be!

This took me a couple days, up to a week sometime in August 2024 to get this mix to where it is currently.
There are still plenty of issues, but like I said in the description, I can't really work on this since I had switched computers and my audio workstation apps aren't reading my VSTs and effects from project files made on the other PC. 

At some point I'll finish this, but I'll have to make a new mix from scratch and start from square one.
